Emergency Rule Turns Ugly
Up to 500 people have been arrested and detained as military ruler President Pervez Musharraf tries to stifle outcry over the emergency measures. The picture shows Asim Sajjad, a lecturer at LUMS, about to be arrested. These images have shocked the entire LUMS family.

Asim has not been arrested, the picture here shows him about to be arrested.
Shortly before posting this comment sources close to him have confirmed that he was not taken into 'preventative detention'. I would request that this posting be updated to reflect these facts.

Thanks for your input Saad. We have edited the post and left the issue, of whether he was eventually arrested/detained or not, open ended.
I think to some extend it doesn't even matter if he was actually detained or not. The way the police treated him and others around him was bad enough to trigger reaction from the LUMS community.
